The Flateshare By: Beth O’Leary
Honestly, this wasn’t anything super special but I would say it is a good summer read because it goes really fast and it is really easy to follow. I will say the writing in this book was unique and the way the perspective is told from the male character was written in a unique way.
This book made me smile. I loved that the characters were from England because I love myself an English accent. The characters were really fun and the plot line was charming. It was pretty predictable, but then again so are a lot of romance novels… partially the reason I love them so much. I would say don’t put it at the top of your list but definitely worth the read if you get around to it.

The Last Thing He Told Me By: Laura Dave
This book had me hooked by the very first page. You are always guessing what is going to happen next. Hannah’s husband goes missing after his company goes under for fraud and she receives a note that says “protect her” in reference to his 16-year-old daughter. Bailey doesn’t like her stepmother but she might be her only hope to finding out what happened to he father and who she really is. I love that this novel is primarily female-driven.
Hannah and Bailey lead their own investigation into Owen’s disappearance. This novel is primarily set in Austin on a college campus which was a nice change in pace. This was a Reese Witherspoon pick and I will say although it was good, it got a bit confusing at parts and I had to go back and re-read. Much like the Flatshare definitely put it on your list but don’t make it a priority to read.

The Friendzone By: Abby Jimenez
Yet again another romance novel. If you can’t tell, I usually dable back and forth between a thriller and a romance novel. If I just stick to thrillers it gets a bit dark and I tend to spiral and think everyone is out to get me.
Anyway, this novel is fantastic. It is one of the funniest romance novels I have read in a long time. Both the lead characters Kristian and Joshua, are hilarious. You will fall in love with Josh and I hope I can one day find someone like him. I found myself smiling while reading this. This novel also deals with touchy subjects like infertility very well. You learn that life might not always be fair but it is important to remember who your best friends are through challenging times.

It Ends With Us By: Colleen Hoover (TW domestic abuse)
There is a reason this book is so highly talked about. I have seen it all over BookTok (yes I am on the book side of tik tok), raved about on blogs and on authors’ top pick lists. This book is considered a romance novel but not as cheesy as many of the other romance novels I have recommended. This is a beautifully written novel… and I don’t say that about a lot of books.
Colleen Hoover plays with ideas like first loves, heartbreak, and family struggles. I felt so much during this book: pain and frustration but also serendipity and bliss. This is not a hard book to dive into and you are entertained by the first few pages.
I LOVED how this book concluded and I was left smiling despite all the pain throughout the novel. I encourage you all to put this at the top of your reading list asap. If you do read this novel, I would recommend you also read the authors note at the end for more information about the coming of this novel from Colleen Hoover. This is my first read from her but I have so much respect for her and I will be reading more from her.

The Couple Next Door By: Shari Lapena
Love, love, loved this book. It’s like taking a juicy bite of an apple (if that makes any sense). This is another thriller but very “who done it” vibes. After a dinner party, Marco and Anne find their 6-month-old missing. But what would someone want from a 6-month-old? This book is utterly seamless and it moves so easily from page to page. This is a quick easy read that is bound to get you back into reading if you haven’t already. This was another book that I read in two days because it was that good.
